Tracey Farren

Biographical info

Tracey Farren lives in Cape Town and is a prize-winning novelist and scriptwriter. Her novel Whiplash was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Fiction prize in 2008 and won a White Ribbon award from Women Demand Dignity for its activism against women and child abuse. Farren wrote the script for the film adaptation of Whiplash and the movie, titled Tess, won Best South African Feature Film at the 2016 Durban International Film Festival. Her film script Hotel Nowhere, a thriller about two women who become ‘mules’ in the drug trafficking industry, has recently been selected as a finalist in the Best of the Best competition and the Moondance International Film Festival.
